Yoga Therapy and Anxiety/Depression: On Demand Course
Yoga Therapy & Anxiety/Depression
Sattva Yoga Therapy Module | PSYCH400
🌿 Transform how you understand and support mental well-being through yoga.
Anxiety and depression are some of the most common challenges your clients will face—and as a yoga therapist, you have the tools to help them meet these challenges with compassion, wisdom, and adaptability.
In this powerful module, you’ll explore the ancient teachings of yoga and the Yoga Sūtras while learning how to translate them into modern, therapeutic application. Together, we’ll study the mind-body connection, the stress response, and the unique ways yoga therapy can ease suffering and restore balance.
This is not a one-size-fits-all approach. You’ll discover how to adapt group classes and private sessions, tailoring postures, breathwork, and practices to the individual—meeting each client exactly where they are, and guiding them toward resilience and relief.
✨ By the end of this module, you will be able to:
Understand and articulate how familial, social, cultural, and religious conditioning shape perspectives on mental health and healing.
Explain the processes of anxiety and depression, the stress response, and how yoga therapists skillfully assess, meet, and transform emotion.
Describe specific postures, breath techniques, and yoga practices that bring relief from anxiety and depression.
Define and apply Langhana (calming) and Brahmana (energizing) therapies to shift mood and support mental well-being.
🌸 Why this matters:
When you integrate these principles into your work as a yoga therapist, you become a bridge—helping clients move from disconnection to wholeness, from imbalance to harmony, and from suffering to empowerment.
