Integrated Intentions: The Essentials

Integrated Intentions: The Essentials Pre‑Requisites for Sattva Yoga Therapy™
Integrated Intentions is the on‑ramp to your Sattva Yoga Therapy journey—the place where purpose meets practice and your personal “why” begins to take shape as a professional path. This essentials bundle weaves together two short but mighty foundations: Yoga Therapy Defined and Vinyasa Krama. Taken together, they align your intentions, language, and lived experience so you can confidently enter the full Sattva Yoga Therapy training.
From Curious to Clear: Yoga Therapy Defined
Most incoming students have taught yoga, practiced for years, or worked in healing arts—but “yoga therapy” can still feel fuzzy. In this module we ground you in a shared definition rooted in tradition and informed by contemporary integrative health. You’ll explore scope of practice, the therapeutic relationship, whole‑person models (bio‑psycho‑social‑spiritual + Ayurvedic), and how yoga therapy differs from (and complements) group yoga, coaching, and clinical care. Clarity here prevents scope creep later, protects you and your clients, and helps you communicate what you do—ethically, accurately, and inspiringly.
From Sequence to Therapeutic Progression: Vinyasa Krama
Vinyasa Krama means “wise, stepwise progression.” Before we layer in complex conditions, research, and case design, you need the bones: how to build a practice that meets this person (or small therapeutic group) today, and how to adapt it as their needs shift. You’ll learn to:
Assess starting points through observation and simple intake cues.
Apply directional movement, energetic intention, and breath.
Use props, pacing, and sequencing arcs to regulate the nervous system.
Modify safely across stages of healing, energy levels, and life cycles (
This is where artistry meets clinical reasoning.
What "Integrated Intentions" Gives You
Common Language. Everyone enters the core training speaking from the same definition of yoga therapy.
Embodied Framework. You don’t just hear about therapeutic progression—you feel it in your own body and see it mapped step by step.
Purpose Alignment. We invite your 5 Whys: Why are you here? Who do you hope to serve? What change do you want to midwife in your community? Linking your intention to therapeutic application becomes your compass through the program.
Confidence to Engage. With these essentials complete, you arrive at Sattva Orientation ready to ask better questions, participate more fully in Sadhana Skills Lab, and translate learning to clients sooner.
