Marma & Self-Healing (APD)
Marma for Self-Healing: Touch, Energy, and Subtle Therapeutics in Yoga Therapy
This experiential course introduces Marma Therapy—the ancient Ayurvedic art of healing through touch—as a bridge between the physical and subtle body. You’ll explore how mindful contact and energetic awareness can release muscular tension, calm the nervous system, and restore pranic flow.
Through guided practice and observation, you’ll learn to locate and work with marma points for self-care and therapeutic application. These points—where consciousness meets matter—offer pathways for transforming stagnation, emotional holding, and imbalance. You’ll discover how marma therapy relates to the doshas, chakras, vayus, and pancha maya model, and how to apply it ethically and safely within your yoga therapy scope.
Students will gain hands-on skills in self-marma and partner techniques, developing sensitivity to subtle cues of energy and breath. The training also covers boundary awareness, consent, and group facilitation for offering marma work in both individual and group settings.
By the end, you’ll understand how to use marma touch as a subtle yet profound tool for self-healing and therapeutic transformation—uniting body, breath, and awareness in one continuous flow.
